Location
This photo was taken in Japan April 2019 at the entrance to Hirosaki Park during the Hirosaki Cherry Blossom Festival. Hirosaki City in Aomori prefecture is located in the northern tip of the main Honshu island. Hirosaki Castle and its cherry blossoms are known as one of the best scenic spots in Japan, listed in the “100 best spots for cherry blossoms in Japan”Time
This photo was taken at one of my favorite times of day dusk! I love to photograph at dusk as there is such a gorgeous richness in the magical subtle ethereal time in between day and evening state. I also love to photograph at dawn, where there is that same magical ethereal time in between evening and morning!Lighting
Natural lighting, no flash..As a personal creative ritual I always ask in a quiet yet deep prayer state of meditation to the "Grand Order Of Design" (GOD) before I head off to a shoot to show me the best that I can see and capture through myself, my own eyes, GOD's eyes and through my camera lens!Equipment
I used for this shot my Nikon Coolpix P1000, aperture 32/10, Shutter 10/60, ISO 800, Focal Length 54/10 and did not use a flash.Inspiration
I have a personal creative project on the go that is still a work in progress traveling around Japan over the past 5 years capturing beautiful photographs of Japanese Castles, Shrines,Temples and Japanese Gardens to eventually include in a series of photography books. Hirosaki Park and Hirosaki-jo (Castle) were special places that I had intended on visiting to capture their beauty at Springtime. I am so grateful that I made that happen as Hirosaki Park and Hirosaki-jo (Castle) were more magical, beautiful and absolutely stunning than I had ever anticipated.Editing
Post processing was some very minor adjustments through my photo application editor on my Hewlett Packard Pavilion Laptop..In my camera bag
I don't normally have a huge amount of equipment in my camera bag so to speak as it depends on what camera I intend to use. If it's my light weight Nikon zoom point and shoot I carry a light portable tripod on my backpack and also make sure I have spare batteries and lots of cards as I learned the hard way in the past not having enough! I have invested in a gorgeous little but powerful Mavic Mini Drone so will be experimenting with drone footage in Japan next time I am there when travel is allowed and in allowable drone filming areas of course.Feedback
I love all experiencing all seasons to capture my beautiful Japanese inspired photos and I am always totally prepared to leave to travel to my intended shoot destination sites early in the morning before dawn and also staying all day to capture all aspects of the days light and various nuances then leaving my shoot site when it's dark! Feels great and very rewarding and satisfying and I always can't wait to get back to my Hotel to view and sort through my shots and catalog them using my five star edit process. Be brave, be daring, be adventurous, just be yourself and enjoy your creative photographic adventures and journey in all aspects.
