Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo when meeting up with some old friends and hanging out in the park with them. The shade and the trees made for a great effect in the background.

Time

Around midday -- we walked around town all afternoon, catching up and snacking on candy from the convenience store.

Lighting

The midday light was very bright and added lots of contrast to the photo, which made it really "pop."

Equipment

I shot this photo with a Nikon D3400, with an 18-55mm f/3.5 lens.

Inspiration

I was experimenting with my brand new camera and was shooting photos of my friends left and right. When I saw him blow a bubble I asked him to do it again, and then shot a couple pictures as it popped. This was my favorite out of all of them.

Editing

Mostly touch-ups, lighting, black and white.

In my camera bag

If I'm going out for a photoshoot, I'll bring my Lowepro bag that has all my equipment that I need: my tripods, my kit & zoom lens, various filters, and miscellaneous extras like battery chargers or adapters for on-the-go processing. I also keep a Bluetooth speaker in there just for fun.

Feedback

Take your camera with you on your everyday excursions and keep it handy for moments like these. You never know what will happen that you can manage to get a great shot of!
