Got to experience this amazing sunset. Wasn't happy with original edit so I touched it up.

Location
This photo was taken in Lavalette, NJ. I was walking the beach with my cousin on a summer evening. We chose the bay side of the island so we could watch the sunset. I had my camera and we decided on a place to shoot the scene.Time
It was late evening in the peak of summer probably around 8:30pm. The perfect time for a summer sunset with the heat of the day rolling off and the light shifting through it's daily spectrums.Lighting
Natural lighting changes quickly and constantly. Take advantage of the moments you're given. A properly planned andventure can yeild outstanding results. Plotting for the course of the sun and having a vision for your end result will greatly increase productivity.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon rebel t3i with a kit 18-50mm zoom lense.Inspiration
Living on the east coast we don't get to see the sun set over bodies of water very often and it is something that Iove to photograph. My cousin and I planned a walk up the beach on the bay side of the island so we can watch the sun set over Tom's River. We picked the right moment because the event was miraculous and provided for a great composition.Editing
I did accentuate this in Lightroom. It was a single exposure edited rather basically, no split toning or any other advanced techniques applied. In my camera bag
My camera bag is always changing. The 2 items that I always keep are a 50mm lens and a reliable speedlite. These tools will pull through for most of what I will encounter and covers a vast creative range. Apart from lens cleaning devices that is my minimalist kit and serves me well for photo walks.Feedback
Having a vision of what you want will help you properly plan for your composition. When you know what you want to create you will know where and when to look for it. Don't be afraid to travel on a chance, I drove almost an hour and a half to get to the beach in hopes of a good shot. In landscape photography the same location looks different every day and throughout the course of which. It may take multiple visits before you get the right conditions. Have faith and keep at it.
