Location
There is this man made lake near where I live, it's called the little blue lake and it's located in Weert, The Netherlands.Time
It was taken when the sun was at it's highest, we were shooting between 12 and 2 pm. It looks very sunny and warm in the photo but it was actually still spring time and the water was ice cold.Lighting
Natural light is often the best light in my opinion, we brought no lamps or reflection screens, just the right time of the day.Equipment
I've always been a Canon user, this shot was taken with a Canon 6D and a 70-200 mm lens.Inspiration
This photo is actually part of a portrait bundle inspired by the female characters of Shakespeare his works. This one is called Ophelia, inspired by her journey from a young carefree girl to a tormented soul that ended in death.Editing
I must admit that I'm not the most talented at editing and I like the process of making photos more than editing so I try to do as little as possible. The goal for me is to get it the way I want it straight out of the camera, so only a little correction work in the contrast etcetera has been done with this.In my camera bag
I always carry my old and trusted For most trips it's the Canon 1300d, a standard 18-55mm lens and a 12-24mm lens. On top of that I never leave without a film camera, which is usually the Canon EOS 300 with a 28-90mm lens.Feedback
Look at what your surroundings have already given you, it's not necessary to bring the whole studio with you, or to bring a pool to your studio. Try to work together with nature and you'll get a great shot.
