I was at my friend’s home.Time
It was at night, around 22:00, we were outside having a talk.Lighting
The flame that was lighting the pipe caught my attention. I saw that it was brightening his face, exposing a few parts very well yet enough for a good shot.Equipment
This was shot just with a Nikon d5300 and a 35mm f/1.8 lens.Inspiration
My friend is looking very similar to the famous sculptor Constantin Brancusi. It happened to have my photography equipment with me when I arrived at him. We were talking about random things while I was playing with my camera settings. At some point he got stuck into a deep thinking while smoking the classic pipe, I simply knew it was the time to get that great shot.Editing
Not very much. I changed the photography into B&W and tweaked the clarity, brightness, contrast and exposure.In my camera bag
I love the prime lenses! I usually have 35mm f/1.8 nikkor & 85mm f/1.8 accompanied by nikon d5300 which has the cool display that can be rotate and wireless photo transfer.Feedback
Take your equipment with you anywhere! You don’t know when a casual conversation can turn into a nice photography session and be prepared to switch to manual focus when your camera is too lazy to do that for you in low light conditions.
