Behind The Lens

Location

This is the view from a few paces from my house. It is taken from the island of Ile-Bizard near Montreal Canada.

Time

This was taken at sundown this time of the year about 5.30pm

Lighting

Sunsets and sunrises are my main focus during the time of the year when there are less birds. Dusk lighting is always very special for me

Equipment

this was taken with my cellphone ( at the time the Galaxy S 3 ) Hand held , no flash.

Inspiration

The partly frozen river and sunset reflections and a little mist over the river and to the lake of Two Mountains to the right

Editing

I sometimes add about 10% contrast and a small amount of color. Also maybe change the amount of shadow or highlighting.

In my camera bag

Sony Cybershot DSC HX1 with a 1.7 times teleconverter. And my cell always in my pocket for the sunrise,s or sunsets.

Feedback

I try always to use a fast shutter speed ( around 2000 ) and decrease the EV maybe as much as a full 2.0 And I use the S setting. These settings or similar will bring out more color in these kind of images.
