Behind The Lens

Location

Our son was living in Grand Cayman and one evening while walking Seven Mile Beach this moment came along. It's such a beautiful part of the planet and always peaceful and calming.

Time

I shot this as the sun was setting around 6:21PM. The sailboat passing by was a familiar scene but always nice to be able to blend it in with the sunset on the horizon.

Lighting

The sunsets and sunrises in Cayman are always spectacular and this was no exception.

Equipment

Shot on a Canon T6i with an EFS 18-135mm lens, ISO 500, 55mm, f/20 and 1/125s

Inspiration

I wanted to capture a memory of a place that we grew to love. It reminds of a time when there was no rushing around and no phones or emails to deal with.

Editing

not a lot of post-processing at all. a little exposure correction really was it.

In my camera bag

I always carry my 18-135mm and my nifty 50mm. I sometimes have use of a 10-18mm wide angle as well.

Feedback

Patience is your friend. take you time and be aware of what is around you. Sometimes while you are waiting for a shot of something planned you will be surprised by another shot that crosses your path. Enjoy life and the moments it gives you.
