Hard to put into words how powerful your image is...
Thank you so much!

Behind The Lens

The photo was taken in the very ancient village of Maymand (Iran) inside one of the hand-dug house amid the rocks.
This photo was taken on March 7th, 2019 at 18:03.
As far as possible, I'm in use to take advantage of natural light.
This image was shot on a Nikon D610 with a NIKKOR AF-S 16-35mm f/4G IF ED VR lens without involving neither a tripod nor a flash.
The main inspiration was the very ancient village of Maymand (Kerman Province, Iran) and the hard life, people living in are carry on. The village has recently been added to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list. Many of the residents live in the 350 hand-dug houses amid the rocks.
Yes, I did. I regulated shadows and lights by Adobe LR in order to bring out the texture of the buildings. Moreover, I decrease a bit the saturation to give to the picture an atmosphere a bit more dramatic, according to the environment and the message I wanted to convey.
In my camera bag
As a frequent traveller and backpacker adicted, my choise in term of gear is usually a good tradeoff between quality and size/weight. I use two bodies NIKON D610, NIKON D600 and the following lens and filters: NIKKOR AF-S 16-35mm f/4G ED VR, NIKKOR AF-S 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G IF ED VR, NIKKOR AF-S 70-200mm f/4G ED N VR, NIKKOR AF-S 50mm f/1.8G. Few accessories complete my equipment: KENKO Digital Filter Circular PL, MANFROTTO Tripod MK293A4-A3RC1, METZ Flash Mecablitz 52 AF-1.
The most difficult part is to discover meaningful and interesting street scenes, catching them at the right time and in the right way trying to "tell the story". As a traveler before than a photographer, I'm really interested in culture and habits so I like to spend time walking along the streets and talking with people. Concerning the composition, I suggest to move a lot in order to discover the best place to shot and to take the photo from a different point of view with respect to the usual natural one.
