People have asked me about this photograph. It’s a combination of stories. (1) I lived by Lake Michigan and it’s sandy beaches where in summer one often saw riders & horses on the beach. (2) One of my daughters is a horse trainer & she often rode handsome shorty. (3) Remembering the horse riders on the beach and how free they looked, I wanted to see Shorty free on the beach. (4) I thought the coloring of the beach photo I had was a good match with Shorty. So I placed him there.
