Location
I’m a self taught photographer who was playing around with settings while in Addo Elephant National Park.Time
I was on an early morning drive trying to find large herds of African Elephants for an university study on animal behavior and I came across these two younglings playing in the grass at about 8:30 am.Lighting
I always try to capture a photo that can represent the natural beauty of the African sunrises and sun sets. I believe in trying to capture images that need little to no editing to express raw talent and learn what settings work for which environment.Equipment
It was shot with a Nikon D750 and a 200-500 mm lens with a car mount to keep the camera sturdyInspiration
I am a Nature Conservation by choice, by passion, by hobby, by job. The African bush has been my interest for all the years of growing up and I’ve turned my passion into a lifestyle to protect and showcase the uniqueness and authenticity of nature. I believe in sharing my experiences with as many people as possible to spark the same light in them.Editing
The only post editing I did was the transfer from colour to black and white. In my camera bag
I always carry my two Nikon camera bodies with me, a D750 and D7200 along with spare batteries and their charges for both the cameras. My bag also has a 200-500 mm lens, 18 - 24 mm lens and 70 - 200 mm lens for different subjects and lastly a range finder and flash for night photography which is still an art I’m trying to perfect.Feedback
Don’t be scared to play around, it’s how you learn what does and doesn’t work. Don’t conform to the guidelines and the rules, express yourself through your photography and let it speak to audiences
