If you want a great view of Tokyo you have a couple of options. The most accessible is the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building which has a price you can not beat -&bt; FREE entrance. There are 2 towers, see our stories and-or Japan travelogue Highlight for which one is a clear winner. Second is Roppongi Hills tower which is quite pricey but has an awesome City view and Sky deck which is open, right in the Downtown and offer in my opinion the best balance of panorama and being "in the centre of action". Word of caution, they seem to me a bit whimsical when and why they close the open deck. When we were there they closed it because in the morning there was a little rain. Go figure... So do check out and have a B plan in place just in case.

Besides obvious choices, there is also an option of Tokyo Skytree (634m high O_O!), but in my opinion, it is a little too far from the downtown. Also, recently I have seen some stunning photos and videos, mainly coming from awesome @mikevisuals , made from rooftops of Tokyo tower's nearby buildings. But I guess you need connections to get an access. If anybody knows how and where let me know ;)... A great option are also upper decks of hotels in Odaiba, where you can capture a wonderful view of Rainbow bridge with Tokyo skyline as a background.

In your opinion, which city has the most iconic skyline?
