A Eurasian Eagle Owl in flight. I have been asked about the different colored eyes. This owl is owned by famous naturalist Steve Hoddy who often displays his free flying raptors at raptorfests, renaissance fairs, etc. My presumption is that this owl is in captivity due to an eye injury-issue.

Heterochromia is the condition where a being has two differently colored eyes. Humans, felines,canines, etc...if you have eyes this can happen.

Peak-a-boo I see you. Spotted your entry. And it did not have long legs or other curves. It is a bird, not the British slang for a young lady, an owl with what appears to e two different colored eyes.

The shot was made at 10:30 AMLighting
The lighting had interesting tones in the sky which made for an enhancement to the already very lucky, interesting shot. It also apparently caused the appearance of different colorations between the two eyes of the owlEquipment

I'm very lucky to have an incredible amount of wildlife in my area of Florida and raptors of all kinds are quite common and accessible. As I mentioned, however, this one was shot at a raptor fest and I would suggest checking for similar events in your area in that most of these have incredible photo ops including lots of trained raptors that free fly such as the subject of this photo
