Lilac aster flowers in focus as lanterns shaped like flowers are in the blurred background. This image combines nature with the artificial. The flowers are enchanted by the tears of Astraea, as she cries over the lack of stars in the night sky. The light from the lanterns enhances the colors of the photo and replaces the missing stars that Astraea longs for. This image was shot during the Chinese Lantern Festival at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens back in 2017.
