Behind The Lens

Location

In the basement apartment of my friend Jean.

Time

In the evening around 7pm

Lighting

I used a small 12inch soft box on a Yongnuo speedlight camera left. I held the speedlight in my hand, the soft box tied to the speedlight and my Nikon in my right

Equipment

Nikon with 50mm Nikkor lens, yongnuo speedlight.

Inspiration

My friend never gets his picture taken and he was convinced finally one night when I got my speedlight delivered.

Editing

I used Lightroom and photoshop to remove the background and make it black. Also used a bit of frequency separation to bring out his features.

In my camera bag

My Nikon, my 24-120mm lens, my 50mm and tripod

Feedback

You don’t need fancy equipment to take great shots!
