Location
I took this photo in a park in Lisbon, Portugal.Time
It was about 3 PMLighting
The sunlight was filtered by the trees in the park, creating the best light to take this photo.Equipment
I only have a Lumix DMC TZ100, all my photo's are taken with this little miracle of a camera... It shows that you don't need an expensive camera with a lot of equipment to take photo's of good quality, The best thing of this camera is that it is very easy to take with you, because it practically fits in your backpocket. I am saving money to buy something professional though, because it will open new possibilities for sure and I am always looking for new challenges.Inspiration
I was walking in the park and stumbled upon a group of ducks with ducklings. I wanted to capture the sence of innocense of these cute little baby ducks.Editing
I did a little post-processing with Lightroom, cropping, contrast and a bit of color enhancing. In my camera bag
I don't have any equipment in my bag (yet) I am a beginning photographer and I am learning to use a camera, to look for the good light, composition and point of view. One day when I know how to use and set the camera well enough, I will start to think about a bag filled with technical things instead of the need to understand how it works first...Feedback
I saw a group of ducks in te park with 12 ducklings running around. I got messy photos trying to take a photo of the group, so I tried to isolate one little duckling and avoid a disturbing background. After a while I got the attention and trust of one of them. I was squatting with my camera as low as possible and still being able to waddle around like the ducks...At that point the duckling got intrested in me and stopped at a small distance, probably wondering what I was doing. A few clicks and I was happy with my cute little friend. The low point of view is very important when you are taking a portrait of an animal. If you take this photo from a higher point of view, you loose contact with your subject. If you look at a subject to photograph, you have to try to realise what you want to achieve, Try to find the good light, the right point of view and the best composition... And most of all, take more shots with slightly different settings so you can choose the best one, once you get home and open your laptop when the magic of today's digital world begins... I allways crop it later into the size and composition I like best. Crop the photo in different ways, so you can choose the best one the next day when you can have a fresh look at them! Never disturb the animals and respect themt! I allways look at the reaction of the animal I try to photograph, the moment it shows fear, I back of and leave it in peace.
