Behind The Lens

Location

It was taken in Lithuania, Vingis park. It has a really small botanical garden. It is kind a funny how I found this place and here is a story. Vingis park is by the river, and one day I was walking by it. After about half an hour I reached dead end, when I was not able to go further because of the fence, but there was a small gap and I thought "why not". I entered property, saw several old buildings and there was several people walking, so I asked what is this place.. That was the moment when I realized that you have to pay to get in, but after that, it became one of my favorite places to take photos.

Time

I don;t quite remember what exact day it was. But I know it was in 2018. It was a beautiful sunny day, I would say a bit to sunny. So we were looking for a chill spot, to take some rest and chill. I was walking behind and suddenly I saw how beautiful shadows looks on her.

Lighting

In my opinion, the best shadow are created by the trees. Each of the shadow is individual and you will never be able to get that shadow again. Next year leaves will grow different and will never be as same as it was.

Equipment

It was taken with Canon 6d , Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM.

Inspiration

I believe it was trees. I wasn't planning to take that photo, but after I saw how all these shadows fall on the back I was stunned.

Editing

There was not a lot of post-processing, I just change color of the leaves. They were a bit to green, so I made them a bit blueish green.

In my camera bag

I always have Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM and Sigma 24mm F1.4. 85mm is my absolute love and I never leave it.

Feedback

Your eyes should always look for something unusual. Especially when you are walking in the woods. Just put your model to the exact place you want and take loads of photos in many different angles. You will realize, that all the shadows changes all the time (wind, bird standing on a branch, etc.) Forest is a magical place and it must be captured!
