Location
This photo was captured on a creek in the backcountry of Shenandoah National Park.Time
This was on the tail end of my hike for the day, ~3:30PM on the last day of March.Lighting
It was a dull and cloudy day allowing for no harsh light from the sun to disturb the environment. No supplemental lighting was used due to this.Equipment
My go-to Nikon D500 with a 16-80mm f/2.8 lens. Being on a hike i was unable to pack extra equipment, this picture was taken in the "point and shoot" fashion.Inspiration
Since it was a cloudy day i was focusing on my surrounding environment for potentially well-rounded captures. I tend to gravitate towards compositions involving the sky like sunsets and astrophotography but this allowed for a slight challenge.Editing
I corrected white balance and fixing the contrast and highlights, as well as adjusting haziness. In my camera bag
I always carry my Nikon D500 with a 16-80mm f/2.8 lens, my favorite universal lens. I always have a tripod and filters (ND and UV) on hand as well an external flash to use on occasion.Feedback
Cloudy days produces the best lighting for mello-style photography, its never a bad day to go out and shoot.
