Location
Across the street from my house is a shallow creek that runs parellel to the train tracks that splits our small country town in half. The creek js hidde. about 10 feet down in a ravine that not many people know about. It was all sandy so i jumped down there to walk along it to be able to stop and feel it between my fingers. The creek runs into a wooded area where there were fallen trees and sticks blocking the path. Looking through i see a beautiful sight of limestone walls covered in moss of different shades of green and a limestone bed at the bottim of the shallow creek. I made my way through feeling like i stepped into a different place ive never seen before. Following the creek onward i came to a small 2 ft waterfall woth a pool at the bottom 10 foot in diameter with cryatal clear water about 6 inches deep. In the middle on the pool was one leaf dancing on top of the water with the reflection of the sun like they were meant to be, even though they were planets apart, with the audience of trees watching in the background. The peace I felt from this scene had to be captured so the rest of the world could witness the peaceful beauty of one leaf dancing on the water with the sun.Time
A little after 7pm when the chill calmy blows through your hair, the sunlight kisses your cheeks warming them perfectly, and sky is filled with the colors of autumn.Lighting
The sun was halfway through jts decent into the horizon making the perfect natural light that reflects off the water and shines through the trees.Equipment
I was on a walk to clear my mjnd when j came upon this beautiful scene that i couldn't just walk past. My camera sitting in my bedroom a mile away doing me no good. I instantly dug my Samsing Galaxy Note 5 out of my pocket and captured this shot that won me an award at the 2019 Honeywell Themed Art Competition: Seasons in August 2019 in Wabash, IN.Inspiration
For a moment i stared at this scene and the world dissapeared. No worries, stress, or heartache. All that i felt was peace, serenity, and completely at ease. Mesmerized by the thought of knowing even after something dies, such as a leaf, it can still bring beauty and happiness to the world because of what it was. This photo gave me hope that I can still bring the same to the world after I'm gone from the life I lived too.Editing
No.In my camera bag
My red Canon camera on a strap around my neck turned on, and ready to capture anything that jumps out and yells take my picture. A bottle of water in case the earth consumes me with capturing the best .parts of for a long period of time.Feedback
On a cool autumn evening, the day after the earth was cleansed from a shower of rain, put on some old shoes to adventure down a creek you've never explored before. A nature preserve is a great place to find the peaceful beauty nature has to offer in more ways than one.
