Even after the Saguaro has pulsated its last root in the ground and enjoyed its last sip and drop of water, it still moves on gracefully into the afterlife.

It does this to assure that its seeds find way to new ground and settle to grow into new towering, gorgeous giants of the desert.

Saguaro's are known to age to at least 200 years. Old Granddaddy was known to be the oldest Saguaro cactus, when it was 300 years young in the 1990's.
