Location
This photo was taken in the Long Hall Library of Trinity College Dublin, Ireland.Time
As it was taken indoors, the time of day in terms of lighting and exposure didn't play as major a role as it typically would, but it around midday on a Saturday.Lighting
I wanted the image to portray the bookshelves and their literature in a way as to being the focal point of the viewers eye and reinforce the fact that literature is the light in the dark as it provides knowledge and direction when unsure and lost.Equipment
I used a Canon 500 sat on a tripodInspiration
The Long Hall is one my favourite places to visit and I wish to show its beauty and wonder as best I can. I feel that literature is an area we should all take the time to read and appreciate and sometimes we need to be reminded of this.Editing
A simple touch up of the lighting and shading was done.In my camera bag
I keep my Canon and 50mm lens as it serves the purpose of my daily life. I also have my Huawei P20 Pro which is a great camera on its own and aids in those quick moments that would otherwise be missed.Feedback
I have always tried to use light in manner to my advantage. It makes it more organic and in situations like this, being indoors with light coming in through the windows and people walking about, it's important to take notice of these elements. One wants to keep and over all environmental exposure but lighting focus being put on the area you wish to draw the eye to.
