This is a little stray kitty that showed up on our back porch. She was afraid of humans & I thought she was feral at first. But she finally let me pet her & she loves it.

I tried to pick her up - but she keeps jumping out of my arms. Not out of fear - but she has no idea what I'm trying to do. She looks at me like "I don't get it".

I don't know if somebody dropped her off - city folk like to drive out to the country & set their cat out somewhere & they think - oh it will find a new home, or it will eat mice & birds and be fine. This is very cruel to do to an animal.

Plus it makes other people have to take over feeding and caring for your responsibility. Anyway, she's a sweetie & very photogenic. I love her eyes.

She was outside looking inside the window at me & our other cats when I took this photo.

I've been feeding her for 3 months & I made her a house on the porch with a heating pad inside.

She is going to get a trip to the vet's next week for shots. Then I guess she will join our family. She always wants to come inside - and I feel bad that she's had to stay out there. However, even though she looks healthy - I have to protect my other kitties & make sure she's had her shots & blood tests to rule out feline leukemia, etc.

2023 UPDATE : Tori came inside shortly after I last posted. She was the absolute perfect indoor kitty. Used the litterbox like a pro. Loved climbing up in the cat tree. Slept with me and loved cuddles. But still did not allow picking up. She got along with the other cats and then we adopted a dog and she didn't blink twice about it. There was something very special about her. In September of this year she started vomiting and I first thought it was due to her eating grass. I stopped letting her outside for 3 days but she still threw up. I knew something was not right. Took her to the Vet. They finally did an x-ray & saw a mass high up in her stomach. Then we had an ultrasound done. It was a tumor taking up half her stomach. The doc said it was inoperable. 2 weeks later, she passed away in my arms - the only time she allowed me to pick her up and hold her in my arms. And she was purring.
