Location
This photo was taken at a traditional wedding in the Alps of Garmisch near Munich. One of my photo-ideas was to take the"brides eyes" picture, which worked out well with such a beautiful bride.Time
The picture was taken at 13:00 o'clock in our time of the wedding couple shoot.Lighting
At weddings you face always changing lightning conditions and you have to adapt very quickly to the situation. In this case the light was harsh and bright. We managed to get a brides-mate to hold a 120cm diffusor above the couple in order to soften the light.Equipment
Nikon D610 Camera and a Nikon 70-200 2.8 Lens to increase the bokeh.Inspiration
Before the wedding at the times of photographic wedding planning I got to know the couple. I immediately noticed her sparkling blue eyes and I knew I have to capture those eyes. After intensive wedding-photography research I pieced together this idea.Editing
I used Lightroom to do common retouching like: Iris enhance, eye whitening, very little skin cleaning (good makeup), brightening of under the eye shadows (the bride was a bit tired), little amount of skin cleaning of groom. As I shoot in RAW I intensified vibrancy and contrast a little bit.In my camera bag
I am a friend of the Sigma Art lenses because they are sharp as razor-blades. I Usually have the sigma 24mm, 1.4, sigma 50mm 1.4 and the Nikon 70-200mm 2.8 Lenses. For weddings I also constantly use 2 camera bodies to be fast at changing situations. 2 Speedlight flashes, , softbox, remote triggers, reflectors and tripots are also in my wedding equipment.Feedback
I think the angles of shoulder and eye-line, the height of her head behind the shoulder, the position of the hand are very important to the composition. Try to take a few different shots and always focus on the eyes.
