I remember when I was learning German back in me young days... they have a proverb saying "Keine Rose ohne Dornen", meaning "There is no rose without a thorn", although the significance of this phrase is all in the metaphor. Your photo has just reminded me. Very nice!

It was probably about mid afternoon.Lighting
It was a sunny day with clear skies.Equipment
I was using my D5200 with Sigma lens 18-250 macro. I used a tripod.Inspiration
The beautiful flowers and the symmetry drew me to taking yhis image...how perfect nature can be.Editing
Basic post processing was done, a bit of contrast and saturation, but minimal.In my camera bag
I take my camera and lenses in my bag, along with batteries, cleaning material and auto timer. Oh and filters, but not used 9n this occasion.Feedback
I used, I think about f16 for this capture and auto white balance. I placed a black piece of card around the base of the plant to make it stand out and give the capture more drama.
