Location
Just over the bank of on the side of a rural stretch of highway.Time
It was well into the afternoon on a cold winter day before I got over there.Lighting
Overcast cloudy skies combined with a light snow, cutting and softening the light into an even and smooth glow.Equipment
Canon EOS 7D Mark II with a EF 17-40mm f/4L USM on my tripod.Inspiration
Rural decay is always fun to photograph in different weather. This building has seen a few years since it was last used and who knows how long it has left. If nature doesn't get to it first area farmers are cutting trees and clearing fields to get every farmable acre they can.Editing
Converted to black and white, cropped, exposure was slightly too low so that was boosted a 1/4 stop, utterly smashed the highlights and a boost to the whites to aid in crispness, some shadow boost to counter the bit of clarity and dehaze. In my camera bag
Too much says my back. Canon 7DMKII, 17-40mm f/4L, 24-105mm f/4L IS, 70-200mm f/4L, 100mm f2.8L IS, Lee ND Filters, B+W circular polarizers, small med kit, flashlights, spare battery, ear plugs, copy of an ID, lens and filter cleaning supplies, and a bit of toilet paper just in case.Feedback
Keep open eyes, and try new locations near where you live. We become so accustomed to taking the same paths and roads we miss out on a lot.
