Location
We were on a boat tour while at Tybee Island, Georgia. It is about 18 miles from Savannah. It is at the point where a cargo lane meets the main waterway.Time
It was mid-afternoon and the opportunity was there for me.Lighting
Of course I was steadily taking shots. I waited until the tour boat was just right for me to capture the clouds the way I wanted.Equipment
I was using a Canon EOS REBEL T3i, hand held with an Ultrasonic 24-105mm lens at Aperture f/10?ISO 200?Shutter 1/160?Focal Length 70/1.Inspiration
I live in Kentucky and light houses are just not seen here. When I travel and there is one around, I try to capture it.Editing
Although I shoot in RAW, I usually do very little post-processing. I use Adobe Bridge mostly and sometimes Photoshop. Mostly to fine tune or crop. I like to capture the natural look of the scene. In my camera bag
Ultrasonic 24-105mm 1.4 lens, Canon 70-200 1:2.8 lens usually with one on the camera and the other in the bag and a 50mm 1:1.8 and kit lens 18-55 1:3.5-5.6.Feedback
If you see a scene you like, capture with as many different long range and close-up shots and angles as possible. Most of all don't say, "I'll get it on the way back." or "I'll get it later" because it never happens and you will regret it.
