A view from the edge of the plateau - the valley floor below and the sandstone canyons in the distance. The Acomas began the construction of their community on a 360 foot tall sandstone plateau in the year 1144. The highly defensible site was only accessible by a steep climbers route. This site is located in the central region of the state of New Mexico.
