Location
I am a self taught photographer and I love the calmness and serenity that the world has to offer. This photo is taken in beautiful Finnish lapland at Ruka skiresort. The spot is on top of a fell that is unreachable by skilifts. I wanted to focus on the fell seen on the background but keep enough sharpness in the front trees surrounding the frame.Time
I woke up around 6 am. and had my breakfast at the winter cabin. I packed my backpack with my camera gear and my snowboard and started my hike up the fell with snowshoes on. I made my way up while it was still dark and arrived to the top while the light started to gloom in the horizon. I was ready to catch the sunrise.Lighting
When this shot was taken the sun hadn't risen yet fully above the horizon. The crispy subzero air painted the sky with red and yellow colours while the sun slowly made its way up.Equipment
This was shot with an old canon 550d camera and Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 lens.Inspiration
The beauty of mother earth and all the wonders she has to offer inspires me to perpetuate those moments. Every sunrise is different and an unique piece of art.Editing
I did some post-processing with lightroom. I softened the shadows a bit and some minor changes. I try to keep my pictures quite natural.In my camera bag
