Behind The Lens

Location

It was Valentine's day so I went around looking for the street vendors that were selling red balloons. I ran into this lady in a street on my way home. She cheerfully agreed to pose for the photo.

Time

It was mid-afternoon.

Lighting

Even though we were under the shade, the day was bright so the sun caught the top most part of the photo up to the body of the lady.

Equipment

I just used a mobile phone, a Vivo V7.

Inspiration

Several days leading to Valentine’s, I already saw several vendors walking with their balloons and I told myself, I have take a photo of this people. It would be a bonus if I got to talk to them and get their story. In this photo, I got both.

Editing

Post-processing work was done in Snapseed app. I converted it to black and white. Did a brightness adjustment and then adjusted the contrast.

In my camera bag

I normally just bring my mobile, a Vivo V7 but occasionally I also have my Canon 60D DSLR mounted with a 50mm lens.

Feedback

The only advise I can give for street photographers is to shoot and be quick. As soon as you see a possible shot, take it. Sometimes you will see details in the shot you took when you review. So it's important you just shoot a lot and get good at visualizing your shots.
