Location
This shot was taken in Thailand, near the Aleenta Phuket - Phang Nga Resort & Spa, while on a walk along the beach.Time
I remember, that the air was extremely humid, and that the occasional breeze coming from the storm created a lovely tingling sensation on my skin. It must have been sometime around early afternoon, and by the time the sun was setting, this storm was completely gone.Lighting
The light was very special at that moment, as the clouds were passing quickly making the light shift within seconds. I especially loved the dark, dangerous clouds, threatening to rain down on me any second.Equipment
I used my beloved Sony Alpha 7 MK2, with the Samyang f/2.0 14mm wide-angle lense. And although I had my tripod, I placed the camera on one of the remaining smaller columns just in front of the pier.Inspiration
While walking on the beach I became friends with a lovely little stray dog, after sharing some snacks, which she took to her pups near to this ruined pier. Actually, this is how I stumbled across it. Once I realized where I was, I knew I had to take the opportunity. Once thing I regret is that I didn't capture a longexpo of the waves :)Editing
Well, a bit of contrast was added along with some clarity on the clouds. I really wanted to highlight the dramatic contrast in the sky. On top of that I used my cinematic orange-teal LUT to add some color to the sand.In my camera bag
Actually quite a lot :) I always got my Sony Alpha MK II with a Sony 28-70mm f/3.5 and a Samyang 14mm f/2.0 lense. Got my remote control and tripod. And lately, as I got more into videography, I always take my DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone and DJI Osmo Pocket with me.Feedback
Go out and shoot, doesn't matter what the weather looks like or where or when you are. Just go and shoot, oh and enjoy it :)
