Behind The Lens

Location
I took this photo in my home studio in London. I am more outdoor photographer. But it was very cold and rainy day. I did some photos on my hand painted backdrop and later decided to create something cosy in home environment. During cold and rainy days I used to light my husband's hand made chandelier. So I used it this time as a prop for the images as well as the candles.
Time
Photo was taken around 12 noon and 2 pm.
Lighting
As I mentioned, I used my hand made chandelier and candles to create cosy yellow light in the picture. I asked model to stand by the window to have her silhouette.
Equipment
Nikon d800 and Sigma Art 85mm 1.4
Inspiration
My previous cosy evenings with my family at home. We use to light candles and just spend time all together eating dinner or chatting with friends.
Editing
Yes, I use Photoshop to edit my pictures. I reduced the highlights to have darker image. Added blacks and shadows. I warmed it a little bit and used brown tones texture to smooth the contrast and have more warm vintage look.
In my camera bag
Nikon d800 and sigma art 85 mm
Feedback
Just ask model to stand by the window and try different angles. You can try to put some fairy lights or candles to have nice reflections on the window. You will be surprise how many interesting images you can create.
