Location
The picture was taken in Villnöss valley in South Tyrol located the north of Italy. It was in the middle of winter and at the end of the valley where it was on the alp there was about 50cm deep snow! My actual plan was another picture where I photographed a small mountain hut. But that did not have the charm and impact like this picture.Time
It was about 22 pm on a cold winter nightLighting
It was a very clear night and no cloud in the sky. No haze and very wide viewEquipment
I use a tripod of the brand Sirui, this is very stable. This is with a ball head also from the brand Sirui. The camera I used is a Nikon D750 with a wide angle lens 16-35 f4. For the light that I keep in the picture I used a normal camping lamp.Inspiration
I started a photo series titled "Enlighten the Night" where I implement and create this style of photography. Much inspiration comes from social media. I follow many night photographers and city photographers. With this inspiration, many things are implemented in nature as I live in the middle of the mountains.Editing
Normally, many will now say that with a f4 aperture. Can not photograph stars? I prove the opposite. The picture consists of 5-6 different pictures in landscape format. An empty only with landscape about 2-3 min exposure. then one for the stars increase the iso and 20-25 sec exposure time. A shot like me is about 5-10 sec. A shot of light forward and a shot on the back of the dish. And finally a shot where I went closer to the camera to expand the light. All images were merged into Photoshop. In my camera bag
Nikon D750 + D7200 Nikon 16-35 f4 Sigma 18-35 f1,8 nikon 70 200 f4 Tokina 11-16 f2,8 Nikon 50 mm 1,4 Nikon 135 f2,8 DJI Mavic Pro Go ProFeedback
Do not leave your equipment to the big expectations. Invest better in yourself and teach yourself much more knowledge. It will be paid back to you. I started with APSC and at that time I overtook all my friends with full-frame cameras. So the best tip I can give is that the 10 cm behind the camera is your best tool.
