Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken aboard the worlds largest cruise ship, Symphony of the Seas.

Time

Around midnight

Lighting

Ambient lighting from the deck of the ship. This is a long exposure.

Equipment

The camera is a Sony A7rIII. To get a low perspective I used a Playpod Ultra. The lens is the Venus Optics 12mm Zero D

Inspiration

The unique perspective provided by combining the Platypod with the ultra wide angle lens

Editing

This is a single exposure hat was toned in Skylums Aurora HDR and then finishing in Luminar.

In my camera bag

I typically carry 2 A7rIII bodies. If not traveling I carry the heavy GM lenses, otherwise I’ll carry the 24-240 zoom with the 85mm prime and the 12mm Venus

Feedback

Practice seeing things from different perspectives in your mind. Here I noticed that the floor creates a leading line, and the shapes and color coded compliment the composition.
