Behind The Lens

Location

...It was taken at Saint James's Cemetery, in Kent, UK. It's a huge rolling place, surrounded by hills and Pine trees...In Winter the landscape can be very bleak, but it's always a very atmospheric place to spend time .........

Time

It was taken at 09.43 in the morning exactly, in February!

Lighting

....It was a grey foggy morning, so the light was naturally low. I wanted to emphasise this to create atmosphere, so still underexposed the image a touch.

Equipment

I hate to say it but (as my camera had broken), I used my Smartphone camera to take this, (and many other images!). I then did a touch of editing, also using my phone.

Inspiration

Nothing very exciting...! I'd had quite hard night at my job looking after a Backpackers. I couldn't sleep so took a walk to the cemetery......I loved the morning light, and the way the fog hung over trees in the distance.

Editing

Yes, I underexposed the image a touch, and added some shadow, using the Photo Editor on my phone.

In my camera bag

At the moment just my Smartphone, a note/sketch book and pencils/biro.

Feedback

Make the most of grey, drizzly, or misty weather conditions, for atmosphere or feeling of mystery.
