I took this photo at The Springfield Botanical Gardens at the Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park in Springfield, Missouri, USA.Time
It was early to mid morning and I was walking around the gardens just taking photo's of anything that caught my eye. I noticed these things flying around (I had never seen one before) and I was mesmerized by them! There must have been a hundred or so of them flying around a small English Garden and I must of taken at least 50 images!Lighting
I wish I could say that I am a photographer that worries about such things but that's not me! I seldom carry a tripod, so I am not one to try to set up a shot. I like to just walk around, camera in hand and take pictures of what I see that interests me!Equipment
I use a Nikon D3300 camera and I had a 50-200mm zoom on at the time. I used nothing else as I was just out walking and it was a fairly bright morning.Inspiration
It was something I had never seen before and I was just getting back into photography, inspired by the pictures some friends in Indiana were sharing! As I enjoyed their photography of my home State, I thought they might enjoy some that I take here in Missouri!Editing
I'm not involved so much in taking Raw photo's. I just take my jpeg images and using the Windows editing program, I may adjust the Clarity, Contrast and Lighting and at times the color. A few times I use a filter if I am feeling adventurous or maybe take a photo that May be below standards and try to improve it! If I were looking to do this as a job, I might change my ways but simple works for me!In my camera bag
My bag contains my Nikon D3300 and 3 lenses. A 18-50mm Nikon lens and a 50-200mm Nikon lens. I also have a Tamron 18-400mm lens which has become my go to lens. I also have some lens filters and I carry a second charged battery...just in case!Feedback
Before I got into photography I didn't realize how much stuff I was missing! Photography, in a sense, has opened my eyes to things that I was missing! Sunsets, I'd seen them, but not really! Hummingbird moths, I probably would have walked on by and never seen them. But with a camera in my hands, it forces me (or anyone else) to slow down and LOOK! So I guess that would be my advice...Slow down and look for opportunities, you may see something you've never seen before!
