"Frozen Road Runner on Rock" is a wonderful photograph of a wild road runner on a cold California day. He was puffed up to about twice his size and I am not sure if it was because he was cold or because he was friendly but he allowed me to get right up next to him. He even stayed put while I cleaned the humming bird feeder inches away from him. Had probably way to much fun photographing this amazing bird. Photograph taken in Palm Desert January 2019

This photo was taken from our back yard in Palm Desert California.

It was taken in the morning

Lighting

it was extremely hazy and cloudy this day making it exceptionally hard to get a good picture of this wonderful bird

Equipment

Taken with a standard Canon camera with no flash.

Inspiration

These birds are large but normally thin so when I saw how fluffy he was and unusually slow I had to take advantage of the moment

Editing

no post-processing

In my camera bag

Always have 3 lenses, 2 hoods, 3 chips, a few filters (including a UV filter) and several business cards.

Feedback

When photographing birds they will often be camera shy so you need to be stelth.
