Behind The Lens
Location
This was taken at a storage facility nearish to where I live. I remember walking by the spot and thinking about the geometry of the shadows and architecture and liking it a lot.Time
It was at night. The street and storage facility lights had to be on for this to work. Because I hate getting up early, this was early in the night.Lighting
This lighting, while not "natural" per se, was part of the environment. The shadows can only be created by the light, so I had to find a spot that had the lights in a spot already that worked for my vision of the shadows, lights on both sides behind the fence for a crisscross shadow, light behind me so I am not a complete silhouette, etc.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon EOS-70D....I cannot remember the lens but the metadata says that the the Aperture is f/4.5, the ISO 400, the Shutter 2/1 and the Focal Length 21/1. But the tripod is just a generic $25 USD thing off of Amazon.Inspiration
It was a for a class assignment on lighting. Because I had already been taking photos for longer than anyone else, I was trying to flex hard on the classmates. The Ghost bit was unintentional. The camera connect app doesn't work if you aren't facing directly at the camera, so I had to do a timer on the camera and then book it. I was a little slow this time, and I became a ghost, and I thought it was cool. A happy little accident.Editing
It was simple, this class was not about post processing and the teacher preferred we didn't, but I played with the contrast, vibrancy, and saturation a bit. That is it.In my camera bag
I have 2 bags. A big more inclusive backpack one, and a small shoulder carry bag and I switch off depending on what I am doing but, I always have my camera body (Canon EOS 70D), my 50mm prime Canon lens, extra battery, tiffen cloth, lens poofer bulb thing, and a small brush. Everything else lens and flash-wise is optional and is swapped in and out. Other equipment that goes into camera bags that I have: Canon EFS 10-18mm Canon EFS 18-55mm Canon EFS 55-250mm Canon Macro 100mm prime Neewer Spleedlight NW-562Feedback
