Location
Walking the streets of Soleto, my boyfriend's family's hometown, we came across this beautiful unassuming alley, with a great view of the top of the bell tower of the town's Chiesa (church). I decided this would be the perfect spot for my first ever self portrait.Time
It was about 10pm at night, just after the local festivities had died down.Lighting
Nothing but the moon and the warm street lights to give this photo life! The 10 second long exposure helped bring it to life fully.Equipment
Canon 650D with the standard 18-55 kit lens, and a tripod.Inspiration
What didn't? We were in a small town in the South of Italy, the most romantic place on earth, with the man I love! I thought it would be quaint to name this photo Italian Kiss :)Editing
I hardly did anything to this photo. Just some basic light adjustments in Lightroom to the raw file and brought out the details a little bit.In my camera bag
Canon 650D (soon to be a 6D), 18-55EFS, 50mm F1.8, tripod, reflector (for model shoots), studio lighting kit, backdrops, iPhone 5 and Olloclip Lenses (I love iPhoneography too), and iPhone tripod.Feedback
When walking around on holiday always be open to let the surroundings speak to you... if you find a good spot that gives you a good feeling, see what kind of compositions could be possible and go from there :)
