Oh yeah, very cold, though even in winter, there's photo opportunities

Behind The Lens

Location

This was shot in Stevens Point, WI. Naturally, at the time, I was on a walk with my dog, who has since passed. Winter tends to really have those great photography moments up her sleeves, though again, you've got to be willing to have your camera on your person, or you will miss opportunities

Time

Sometime in the afternoon (I don't remember the exact specifics offhand *laughs*)

Lighting

By itself, the image looked pretty blah. Fortunately, I know a good bit about HDR compositing, so after I shot this scene, I immediately edited it inside Photomatix, with this as the result

Equipment

Canon Powershot A1100 IS point-and shoot camera (that's pretty much it)

Inspiration

Whole lotta winter photos

Editing

HDR in Photomatix, as I explained earlier. Shooting proved to be fairly challenging, as at the time, I did not have a tripod readily available, thus the risk of ghosting in the final product

In my camera bag

It depends *laughs*. Lately, I have only had access to smartphone cameras (the first one being on the Samsung Galaxy J7 V)

Feedback

Have patience. You might not get a great shot, at first, but as they say, you will learn as you go
