Behind The Lens

Location

Kgalagadi Game reserve South Africa

Time

Midday

Lighting

Natural light

Equipment

Sony a99ii, 70 - 400mm lens

Inspiration

Was driving all day through the park to my destination, my camera is always ready on my lap, I noticed a pair of lions sleeping next to the road, I stopped to take a picture, the next moment they got up and walked right up to my window, I thought she was going to put her head into the vehicle on the passenger side, luckilly I travel alone, I manage to get a couple of shots in before they disappeared into the bush

Editing

A bit of Lightroom, with the mirrorless camera it is easy to have the correct settings

In my camera bag

Sony a99ii, Sonya350, 50mm, 14 - 24mm, 25 - 70mm, 70 - 400mm lens I sold all my Nikon gear, D700, D800, 14 - 24, 24 - 70, 70 - 200, 80 - 400, 105 macro, flash, 1.4x, 1.7x, 2x teleconverters to build a new house, now saving for more Sony gear

Feedback

Be always ready, first take a safety shot before adjusting your settings for a perfect shot
