Location
This is a very simple, casual portrait taken spontaneously at home.Time
A lazy Saturday afternoon with nothing special on hand.Lighting
This is a purely naturally lit portrait. The girl was placed by a large window. The day was pretty overcast, which rendered a very soft and flattering light.Equipment
A Canon 5D mII camera with an 85 mm 1,8 lens, wide open, handheld.Inspiration
I just wanted that girl-next-door look. Casual, natural and spontaneous.Editing
Only RAW development with global adjustments for contrast, white balance and curves. In my camera bag
I normally carry a Canon dSLR with Canon 85mm and 50mm primes and a 24-105 zoom lens. Sometimes I also have a flash with me, which I use to bounce light of a wall or a ceiling. On other occasions, when I want to travel light, I just take a FujiFilm x20 compact with me - it's advanced and flexible enough and the f/2-2.8 lens is pretty fast for that size of camera.Feedback
Simplicity is key. Simple background, simple styling, simple gear.
