Location
I took that photo on the International Amsterdam Motor Show 2018. It's a very crowded event so I had to use some creativity to make a photo look like a studio shot.Time
I don't remember what time of the day it was, but it was an indoor motor show so it didn't matter that much.Lighting
The light was very difficult here. There was plenty of reflection on all the cars in the show. It was very hard to make them not disturbing. On this particular show, I believed I was able to make the reflection be an advantage as it gave a nice contrast here.Equipment
I shot it handheld with Panasonic G9 without any extra accessories.Inspiration
Porsche Carrera GT is one of my favourite cars so I definitely took it very personal ;) Moreover since it was the car show and all the cars were behind the fence I tried to use it in the shot.Editing
I did basic post-process here - mainly recovered some shadows and added contrast but the bigger part was desaturation. It's not completely black&white but I wanted to make that dark mood.In my camera bag
Normally I have plenty of stuff in my bag. This time since it was an indoor car show I didn't take tripod and extra gear so I just had Panasonic G9 with only two lenses with me and of course some extra batteries ;)Feedback
Two things: first - don't be afraid of difficult condition. Light and fence made it really hard but I tried to use them as an advantage here so whenever You're finding conditions not as You hoped for, try to do something different than You planned. And secondly - always look for something different - I saw on that show that most of the photographers were doing exactly the same shots - they all stayed in the same position, the same angle. I did something completely different and I think that makes the photo very special.
