Behind The Lens

Location
This photo was taken at famous LA rock club The Whiskey-a go go. Its Singer Eric Dover, of former Slash's Snakepit and Jellyfish and others.
Time
Taken during an event called Ultimate Jam Night held every Tuesday night at the Whiskey. Its basically whoever famous musician that happens to be in town that night, show up and jam.
Lighting
Concert lighting is very tricky, especially with limited lighting in a small club. Whiskey is no exception, basically flashing between 2 or 3 main colors. I noticed the best possibility for good shots was during this "blueish" light. I was lucky enough to have him stare dead in to my camera for a rare second, and durring the optimal light conditions. It was a true one off, that could not be repeated that night again.
Equipment
My go to gear is a Canon 6D and a Canon L lens 70-300 for concert shots.
Inspiration
I like concert photography along with landscapes and cityscapes.
Editing
White balance and some other tweaks, High pass filter in select areas.
In my camera bag
canon 6D and various lenses, some filters and thats about it.
Feedback
While shooting concert photography shoot a LOT....You're lucky if you get a few good ones. Hundreds of photos each show yields maybe 10 really good ones.,
