Beyond the known world. Lit from above to appear like an alien mother ship illuminating an alien landscape. Everything you see in this image as far as the horizon used to be part of Leilani housing estate in Hawai'i. Now covered in lava, it looks otherworldly. New lava trees stand like eerie statues. Ethereal monuments in the landscape with fissure 8 in the background. Light from Pahoa town on the horizon and the single lit cloud matching the steam vent to the left of fissure 8.
