This photo was taken to document the memory of my father & all those times as a child, I remember him holding this camera, watching his sons and waiting for that next special shot.

Location
This was taken at my home in Albuquerque, New Mexico using a custom designed and built light box.Time
While going though my father's personal possessions, I came across this camera, stored in a well worn and aged leather box, carefully tucked away on a closet shelf. The shot was taken mid-morning next to a window facing south to meet the morning sun.Lighting
This was one of my first studio light box shots, when I was still learning my way around the D7200. The lighting was a mixture of both natural morning sunlight and daylight LED bulbs.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D7200 and a Nikon 18-140mm Nikkor VR Lens on a Vanguard alta pro 2+ tripod with heavy duty Alta ball head.Inspiration
This camera was originally owned by my father who purchased it new in 1959 and used this same camera thru all my very first years in the early 1960's. As our family grew, so too did the photo albums which documented all the most memorable times we had as a family. This photo was taken to honor the memory of my father and all those times I remember him, holding this camera, watching his sons and waiting for that next special shot...Editing
Post processing consisted of smart-fix adjustment and sepia tint added within Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.In my camera bag
My photo bag consists of a Nikon D7200 with a 18-140mm Nikkor zoom lens and a 40mm F/2.8G macro lens, both with Hoya circular polarizer filters and lens hoods. A Nikon ML-L3 wireless remote control, extra batteries as well as extra memory cards. All of this contained within a very hard to find Hazard 4 Freelance photo sling pack with a Alta Pro 2+ 264AT tripod strapped to the outside of the bag.Feedback
Backdrops are key in setting the mood in your vision for the shot. Having multiple backdrops on hand will maximize your creativity. Take your time with the lighting. Do not settle for anything less than exactly what your ideal vision of the shot is to be. This could mean multiple shot sessions, sessions at different times of the day, unconventional light sources, and shooting angles you have never tried before. Remember, your vision for the perfect shot is a journey, not a deadline.
