Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at Durdle Dorr, Lulworth Cove Dorset

Time

Just around dawn. I went down to try and catch the "through the keyhole" sunrise shot, but alas that did not happen with the cloud

Lighting

The sun was trying to break through the cloud, which it did a little later, but too late for the shot I really wanted. It did however produce this shot, with the sun causing highlights on the sea around the rock formation.

Equipment

I have an Olympus EM1 MK11, 12-100 pro, and Manfrotto tripods.

Inspiration

I got up early to take the through the key hole shot, but as that wasn't happening, I made the Mose of the available light.

Editing

I developed the raw file twice, once for the highlights and once for the shadows. the 2 images were then blended together in Affinity Photo.

In my camera bag

I have an Olympus EM1 MK11, 12-100 pro, 40-150pro with 1.4 teleconverter, 60mm Marco, ND full and grad filters, Benbo and Manfrotto tripods

Feedback

Never give up, if the shot you went out for doesn't happen, try something else, you never know what you may come home with.
