This is my fifth favourite image made in 2018. It was a difficult year for my photography because I had no huge trips and I became unmotivated and discouraged. Compared to previous years, I barely shot in 2018. In the end I ended up really honing in my style and also discovered my love for street scenes.

Wandering around the city by myself on a rainy night with my camera is now one of my favourite things to do, because every time I discover something new or come up with ideas for future images. However, I'm not always a complete antisocial hermit and sometimes I invite people to join me.

On the evening I shot this, my friend Natasha joined me, which was actually pretty crucial to this image happening. The only reason I even took this image is because we were starving and stopped at the restaurant across the street. After we were done, I stepped out and the view across the street just looked perfect to me. I had never paid it any attention before, but for some reason on this night it caught my eye. So thank you, love of food! ????
