Behind The Lens

Location

I took the photo in a small autumn forest near Heiligendamm in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Time

On a beautiful autumn morning I walked this little path, framed by the impressive old trees. When I captured the picture, it was almost 9:00 a.m.

Lighting

The natural light of the autumn morning shimmered golden shimmering sideways into the autumn leaves and made the trees shine mysteriously.

Equipment

I took the picture with a Nikon D800 with a great 35mm f / 1.4 lens.

Inspiration

The fantastic autumn with the golden sun animated me to walk through fields and woods to look for beautiful motifs. And then I found this little picturesque way and couldn't help but photograph this picture.

Editing

The photo didn't have to be laboriously edited. I only lightened a few shadows with Lightroom and raised the whites and blacks.

In my camera bag

These large Nikon cameras take fantastic pictures, but for a while now I've mostly had my Fuji x-t2 with me.

Feedback

You have the most beautiful light in the early morning or in the late afternoon. If you have found a great subject, you should definitely use these times to take your photo. It's best to see from which side the light looks most beautiful and then decide whether you use the late afternoon or the early morning. Especially in the morning you will experience a fantastic atmosphere with such beautiful weather.
