This photo was taken at Photo Bang Bang, a commercial studio in Las Vegas, NV owned by my friend Curtis Walker. There were three sets in the studio, a dungeon, the Victorian Room (this one), and a 60's style living room.Time
The shot was taken indoors mid day.Lighting
We had set up lighting to come through a false window, but I saw this mirror and knew I had to shoot Allie with her looking at her reflection in the mirror. We positioned a softbox and strobe behind and to the left.Equipment
My equipment was a Canon 7D with a 28-135mm lens.Inspiration
Like I said, Allie and I were shooting a completely different theme and set up. Allie is a very beautiful woman and I thought of the mirror in Snow White which tells the queen there is one fairer than her. I saw this mirror and thought of that concept.Editing
Yes, the photo was slightly processed in Lightroom, a basic crop and light balance. Not much processing is required with Allie as far as skin smoothing or blemish removal.In my camera bag
I usually have a 50mm prime and my trusty 28-135mm in my bag along with a monopod and Neewer 5-in-1 reflector. Since this was in studio, I didn't have the reflector.Feedback
While your shooting a particular concept, don't be afraid to look around and see what you may find by going in a different direction. Allie and I were shooting a completely different concept, and we got some great photos with that concept, but I saw this and thought that we could also create something special with just this simple layout.
