Location
This image was actually captured in an outside birding studio that I set up in my backyard. I work from a blind that I set up a week or so before so that the birds act naturally.Time
This image was taken about 4 pm in the evening.Lighting
I set up so that my subjects would be mostly front lit. No fill flash was used, only natural light.Equipment
This image was taken with an Olympus E-5 fitted with a 50 - 200 mm Zuiko lens with a 1.4 x extender at an effective focal length of about 300. Exposure was 1/250 sec at f/8 and the ISO was set at 320.Inspiration
I enjoy an afternoon of "birding" as much as anyone.Editing
very little post processing, if any, was used on this image other than crop.In my camera bag
I usually ahve a couple of bodies when working from a blind with two different focal length setups.Feedback
It is simple to set up a "birding studio" if you take a little time and plan for your lighting. A food source below your "staging area" studio with provide you with plenty of opportunities. .
