Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in La Saladita Beach, located 30 minutes from Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, Mexico. This beach is famous for surfing. I am a self-taught photographer, so every time I visit La Saladita Beach, I mostly get inspired by the waves, surfers and the beautiful sunsets.

Time

This is actually one of my favorite images. I remember waiting for the sun to go down and capture the moment of my sister walking in to the water and capturing her silhouette. This was taken around 6 pm for the new time in Mexico.

Lighting

This was indeed a natural light and took advantage of the colors of the sunset that look like yellow and orange and matching the silhouette of the model.

Equipment

Believe it or not. I took this with my iPhone 6s, no flash, lens nor tripod. Nowadays I use my Canon t7i.

Inspiration

My sister inspired me as soon as she walked in, I captured the moment. It was naturally perfect. The silhouette and the sun reflection in the water.

Editing

Yes, I had to correct the white balance and correct the color of the image.

In my camera bag

Usually I pack my camera Canon t7i with the Ef-s 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6 IS STM and the EF 75?300 mm f/4?5.6 III. This one is perfect for landscapes and Portraits.

Feedback

The weather here is always sunny. You can also get amazing shots of the golden hour, the blue sky and clouds.
